Michael Hohmann
CEO (Chief Executive Officer) – Chairman of the Management Board
Mr. Michael Hohmann was appointed as Chairman of the Management Board/ CEO of ALD Vacuum Technologies GmbH, headquatered in Hanau, Germany, as of August 9, 2021.
Mr. Hohmann graduated from the Technical University of Darmstadt with a master’s degree, Dipl.-Ing. in Mechanical Engineering. He joined Leybold Heraeus in 1983 as a Design Engineer focusing on powder metallurgy and powder production systems. In 1991 he was promoted to Sales Manager and later to Product Manager for powder and special applications. In 2001 Mr. Hohmann was nominated to Vice President of ALD’s sales division responsible for worldwide contracts in the vacuum metallurgy and powder production markets. He advanced to Sr. Vice President in 2015 to manage the “Profit Center Vacuum Metallurgy” within AMG Engineering. In August 2020, Michael Hohmann was appointed to the Management Board of ALD Vacuum Technologies GmbH as CSO.

Dr. Helmut Becker
CHRO (Chief Human Resources Officer) – member of the management board
Dr. Helmut Becker was appointed Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and member of the Management Board of ALD Vacuum Technologies GmbH, based in Hanau, on April 1, 2024. He has also been an authorized signatory of AMG Invest GmbH since summer 2023.
He began his professional career 25 years ago after successfully completing his 2nd state examination in law in the field of human resources. In his former career, he has worked as an HR Executive and in-house counsel (attorney/lawyer) in listed US companies as well as German companies (large and medium-sized) in the areas of HR, legal and compliance. Dr. Becker holds an Executive MBA from the Technical University of Munich and a Master of Laws from the Technical University of Dresden and the Charles University in Prague, both with distinction.
Prior to his appointment to the Management Board, Dr. Becker worked as HR Executive and Compliance Officer at ALD for over five years. In addition, he has successfully implemented numerous special tasks within the AMG Group.

Tim Ostermann
CFO (Chief Financial Officer) – Member of the management board
Mr. Tim Ostermann was appointed to the Management Board of ALD Vacuum Technologies GmbH, based in Hanau, as CFO on 1 July 2023. In addition, Mr. Ostermann has been Managing Director of AMG Mining GmbH since 2022 and an authorized signatory of AMG Invest GmbH, AMG Lithium GmbH and AMG Technologies GmbH since 2019.
After successfully completing his studies in economics and later a master’s degree in finance and controlling at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration, Mr. Ostermann worked in the auditing department of PricewaterhouseCoopers AG (PwC) from 2001, auditing medium-sized to large international industrial clients and in the area of mergers and acquisitions. Most recently, as a manager for PwC, Mr. Ostermann led a multinational team from London, UK, which provided services to one of the world’s largest listed companies (based in the USA) in the automotive and financial services industries. In December 2012, Mr. Ostermann started his career at ALD Vacuum Technologies GmbH as Head of Accounting and was appointed Vice President of Finance and Accounting in 2020. In addition, Mr. Ostermann has successfully implemented numerous special tasks in the AMG Group.

Jörg Wittich
CTO (Chief Technical Officer) – Member of the management board
Mr. Jörg Wittich was appointed to the Management Board of ALD Vacuum Technologies GmbH, based in Hanau, as a member of the Management Board/CTO on August 9, 2021.
After successfully completing his studies in general mechanical engineering at the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences with a degree in engineering, Mr. Wittich started in 1996 in the design department of ALD Vacuum Technologies in the heat treatment product area. In 2006, he took over the management of the mechanical design product areas for turbine blade coating and special systems. In 2020, he was appointed Head of Design with the Mechanical, Electrical and I4.0 departments.
