Leybold Successors merge with Heraeus-Hochvakuum GmbH to form LEYBOLD-HERAEUS GmbH. Degussa, Heraeus and Metallgesellschaft hold equal interests in Leybold-Heraeus GmbH.

Together with Degussa AG and Metallgesellschaft AG Leybold founds the Leybold-Hochvakuum-Anlagen GmbH.

Degussa decides to build vacuum furnaces too.

Leybold starts manufacturing industrial vacuum equipment.
